Mother Elouise Woods Herring
Born November 5, 1931, Elouise Woods Herring was the daughter of Mary “Callie” Woods Shaw and John Shaw of Madison, Florida.
She was converted at an early age and attended Jeslamb A. M. E. Church, Hanson, Florida. Later in life, Elouise joined Evergreen M. B. Church and Pineland M. B. Church where she remained a faithful and humble servant until her passing.
Elouise was a woman with a very little formal education, but had a whole lot of wisdom.
At an early age, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Herring, Sr. of Madison, Florida. To this union seven children were born.
Elouise worked diligently and proudly for Madison County Memorial Hospital for thirty-one years before retirement.
She departed this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Madison, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Herring, Sr., sister Juanita Haynes, brother Howard Johnson, Sr. and a great granddaughter, Danisha Jackson.
Left to cherish Elouise’s fond and precious memories are four sons; Thomas Herring, Jr., Madison, FL, Nathaniel (Priscilla) Herring, Sr. and Ronald (Cassandra) Herring of Valdosta, GA., and Andre’ D. Herring of Tallahassee, FL, three daughters; Barbara (Donald) Williams and Juanita (Gregory) Anderson of Valdosta, GA., and Willene Herring of Madison, FL, eight grandchildren; Nathaniel (Ronika) Herring, Jr. of Chester, VA, Dimitri (Destiny) Herring of North Augusta, SC., Gregory (Katie) Anderson, II of Macon, GA., Kortnie Page of Palm Coast, FL, Quinton Herring (Chrislin) of Valdosta, GA, Dominique Jackson of Qzark, AL, Dantavious (India) Jackson of Atlanta, GA, and Dynesitnie Jackson of Atlanta, GA., Charlenia M. Herring – mother of grandsons, Nathaniel Herring, Jr., and Dimitri Herring, Chester, VA.; thirteen great grands, sister -in-law; Beatrice Baker of St. Petersburg, FL, nieces; Mildred Davis, and Mary Ford of Madison, FL, Monique Baker, St. Petersburg, FL., two special nieces(like daughters) Mary Haynes, Madison, FL and Louise (Rudolph) Hill, Jacksonville, FL, God daughter, Dorothy Alexander, Madison, FL, nephews; Howard (Patricia) Johnson, Jr, Madison, FL. and Pablo Baker of St. Petersburg, FL., and Eddie Raiford of Newport News, VA.; a special friend (like a sister) Minnie Martin of Madison, FL., and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
