Reflections of Life

          

              Dr. Felix Cary Andre Pryor, DVM was born on October 23, 1970 in Gainesville, Florida to Louis Pryor, Sr. and Margie Murphy Pryor.  He was converted at an early age as a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church #2 in Cherry Lake, Florida.

He graduated Co-Valedictorian  at Madison County High School in Madison, Florida in 1988.  He earned a full scholarship to the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. After earning his Bachelor of Science      Degree in 1992, Felix was accepted in the Veterinary School of Medicine Program and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1997.  He started his career as a Veterinarian at Lake Veterinary Clinic in Mount Dora, Florida and was a member of The Florida Veterinary Medical Association.  One of his many passions was to volunteer at Mount Dora Public Schools to encourage the children’s interest in animals and science.  In 2012, Dr. Felix became co-owner of Lake Veterinary Clinic and retired from his practice in 2019. 

Blessed are those who knew Brother Felix, who was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and child of God.  Our Father and Savior welcomed him home to rest on December 14, 2023, where he will continue his work in Heaven. He passed away at his home surrounded by his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Louis Pryor, Sr. and Margie Murphy Pryor and his sister, Margaret A. Pryor. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: five sisters: Barbara (Bennie) Hart of Copperas Cove, Texas, Debra (Gary Sr. ) Booker, Mary Ford both of Pinetta, Florida, Phyllis (Joseph) Peacock of Ellerslie, Georgia, and   Kelley Lynn-Pryor of Pinetta, Florida; five brothers: Louis L. Pryor of Pinetta, Florida, Tony M. (Mary) Pryor, Kevin L. (Mamie) Pryor both of Madison, Florida, Benjamin D. Pryor of Pinetta, Florida, and Michael (Sandra) Pryor of Ocala, Florida; eleven nephews and nieces: Broderick Pryor, Jennifer Pryor, Christopher Hart, Andy Ford, Gary Booker Jr., Justin Ford, Tony Pryor Jr., Kevin Pryor Jr., Janavia Lynn Peacock, Terry Pryor and Joey Peacock; one aunt, Dorothy Strozier of Arizona; one uncle, Bennie Murphy of Madison, Florida; a host of great nephews, great nieces, cousins, beloved friends and his church family.
